Paris, France – 30 September 2026 — Openstone, a private assets specialist serving wealth management professionals, and Fundcraft France, an AMF-authorised portfolio management company, announce the launch of Openstone Infraworld, a French Fonds Professionnel Spécialisé (FPS), structured as an evergreen, open-ended fund dedicated to global private infrastructure.
Managed by Fundcraft France and advised by Openstone, the fund provides access, through a single subscription, to four identified target funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management, Partners Group and Ares Management. Together, these three international managers represent more than US$300 billion in infrastructure assets under management.
Openstone contributes its expertise in analysing, selecting and combining private market strategies suited to private wealth portfolio allocation. Fundcraft is responsible for the management of the fund, its regulatory framework, governance and operational administration.
An asset class supported by structural investment needs
Energy, transport, networks, digital infrastructure, healthcare and education: the scope of infrastructure has expanded considerably. Alongside the need to build and modernise traditional infrastructure, new investment requirements are emerging as a result of the digitalisation of the economy, artificial intelligence, the energy transition and the realignment of supply chains.
According to Stonepeak, global infrastructure investment requirements could reach US$94 trillion by 2040, while US$79 trillion is currently expected to be invested. This estimated US$15 trillion funding gap reinforces the need to mobilise private capital.
For private wealth investors, infrastructure can provide exposure to essential real assets, often supported by long-term contractual revenues, with performance drivers that differ from those of public markets. In an environment characterised by growing investment needs and changing valuation dynamics, the asset class is also offering renewed entry points, particularly in infrastructure debt.
A selection of funds designed to diversify sources of performance and income
Structured as a multi-manager, multi-strategy fund of funds, Openstone Infraworld brings together four complementary funds from launch. Its architecture is designed to diversify exposure across debt and equity, primary and secondary investments, open-ended and closed-ended funds, as well as across different sectors, geographies, vintages and deployment profiles.
The four target funds under consideration provide access in particular to:
- two strategies from Macquarie Asset Management: one focused on infrastructure secondaries and the other on Core+ infrastructure debt;
- an evergreen value-add strategy from Partners Group, combining direct and secondary investments;
- a global evergreen strategy from Ares Management, combining equity and debt and focused on income generation.
At maturity, the target allocation is expected to comprise approximately 60% closed-ended funds and 40% open-ended funds, excluding the liquidity sleeve. The portfolio is intended to expand progressively to include other funds.
Nadim Takchi, CEO of Openstone said:
“With Openstone Infraworld, we are not offering simple exposure to infrastructure, but an allocation constructed around complementary strategies. Debt can contribute to income generation, equity to long-term value creation, while secondaries provide access to portfolios that are already invested. The evergreen format gives this allocation the ability to evolve and broaden over time.”
A clear division between investment expertise and management responsibility
The partnership between Openstone and Fundcraft France is based on a complementary allocation of responsibilities.
Openstone advises the fund and is involved in identifying and monitoring the underlying strategies. As the management company, Fundcraft assumes responsibility for managing the fund and ensuring compliance with its regulatory framework, operating rules and control procedures.
Thomas Ibanez, Country Head at Fundcraft France added:
“The creation of Openstone Infraworld illustrates our ability to support investment specialists in the structuring and deployment of sophisticated solutions. Our role is to provide the fund with a robust management, governance and control framework, supporting a clearly defined strategy and its investors.”
An evergreen fund designed for long-term private wealth allocation
The evergreen format allows investors to invest on an ongoing basis through subscriptions into a portfolio that is already seeded and designed to evolve over time. Openstone Infraworld is available through Openstone’s partner wealth management professionals and via its fully digital platform. It can notably be subscribed to in directly registered form, through a securities account, as well as through eligible Luxembourg life insurance contracts.
