Empowering Women in Tech at fundcraft

At fundcraft, we believe in the power of diversity and inclusion, and we are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered. The technology industry has been a driving force of innovation and growth, and women have played a crucial role in this journey. However, despite the progress made, women remain underrepresented in tech roles across Europe, occupying only 22% of all tech positions. This is a gap we are determined to close at fundcraft.

Why Women in Tech Matter

Addressing the gender gap in tech is not just about doing the right thing; it’s an economic necessity. The tech talent shortage in Europe is a significant challenge, with a projected gap of 1.4 million to 3.9 million people by 2027. By doubling the share of women in tech to about 45%, we can not only close this gap but also potentially increase GDP by €260 billion to €600 billion. Women bring unique perspectives, ideas, and approaches to problem-solving, which are essential for innovation and driving business success.

The fundcraft Advantage

At fundcraft, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where women in tech can thrive. We understand the challenges women face in the industry, and we are committed to addressing them head-on. From providing mentorship and career development opportunities to ensuring a supportive and flexible work environment, we are here to help women excel in their tech careers.

Olga Porro Martorell’s career advancement at fundcraft from Data Analyst to Chief Product Officer within 18 months is just one example of the accelerated advancement opportunities available at fundcraft.

Olga kick-started her career working at a traditional consulting firm. She then shifted to mathematics, earned her PhD, and discovered fundcraft while researching academic opportunities in Girona. She was drawn to the mix of business and data offerings, the international scope, and the opportunity to utilise her experience in data, mathematics, and entrepreneurial consulting.

As a Data Analyst at fundcraft, Olga quickly found her footing and was given the opportunity to lead as Head of Data. Wanting to leverage her business knowledge and better understand users, Olga transitioned to the product department during a time of rebuilding and was soon promoted to Chief Product Officer.

Now as CPO, Olga finds her role at fundcraft deeply fulfilling due to the unique challenges it presents, such as pioneering innovative solutions and scaling the company. She takes pride in strategically connecting the dots while keeping an eye on the finer details. Her role is crucial in bridging operations and technology, ensuring that user needs are met effectively.

Olga is particularly passionate about the dynamic synergy created by a diverse team with varied backgrounds, and she thrives on leading this team towards innovation and growth.

“I find great purpose in what fundcraft is building, and our amazing team inspires me every day,” she said. “I encourage anyone who’s interested in a career in tech to step outside of their comfort zone. It’s like running a marathon, but you have the opportunity to build something new from scratch and to be innovative. The future doesn’t just happen. We are building it!”

Mastering Personal and Professional Development

Roser Brugués i Pujolràs and Gemma Font Solé have also experienced successful career paths at fundcraft while remaining committed to their growing families. Roser joined fundcraft in March 2022 as a Data Scientist and was quickly promoted to a Senior Data Analyst within her first six months. In July 2023, Roser became a mom and recently returned from maternity leave to take over new responsibilities assisting the VP of Product Expansion in Product Automation (ML/AI) as she prepares to transition completely into the role of Product Automation Manager.

Gemma’s similar story begins as a Product Owner at fundcraft in September 2022 where she was quickly promoted to Senior Product Owner. After returning from maternity leave from the birth of her second child in October 2023, Gemma was promoted to her current role as VP of Product.

When asked what advice she’d give to a potential candidate considering a career at fundcraft, Gemma said, “Roll up your sleeves! You are entering a company with immense potential and rapid expansion, where a hands-on flexible and adaptable mindset is key to keeping up with the fast pace. All set in a fantastic environment alongside great professionals who are always ready to offer help. Plus, there are lots of opportunities to grow as a professional.”

As we celebrate the successes of Olga, Roser, and Gemma, we are reminded of the fundamental role women play in shaping the future of technology at fundcraft. Their stories are not just individual achievements but a testament to our commitment to fostering an environment where women can excel professionally, without having to compromise on their personal aspirations or family responsibilities.

At fundcraft, we are dedicated to breaking barriers and creating pathways for women to thrive in the tech industry, proving that professional growth and personal fulfillment can go hand in hand.
